Greater Puget Sound region
EPA is providing a $100,000 grant to the Puget
Sound Maritime Air Forum, with $310,000 in matching funds.
This project will create an activity-based inventory of all
maritime-related air emission sources in the Greater Puget
Sound region. This project will then promote the use of control
technologies like diesel oxidation catalysts, cleaner fuels
like ultra-low sulfur diesel and biodiesel, and public education
activities such as idle reduction programs for truckers and
equipment operators at the seaport to reduce overall emissions.
