Details on the Break-out Sessions
There are five simultaneous five break-out sessions:
- Track 1: Locomotives/Rail
- Track 2: Marine Vessels/Ports
- Track 3: Agriculture
- Track 4: Construction and Distributed Generation
- Track 5: Trucking
Each break-out is tasked with identifying both near-term and longer-term
opportunities for potential collaboration, as well as financial needs
and data gaps within their sector. Time will be allotted for technical
presentations, information sharing, and facilitated discussion. Each
track will present their ideas to the larger group in the afternoon.
The break-out sessions will be structured as round-table discussions
with approximately 20-30 attendees. There is a designated facilitator
and a note taker in each session. There is a strict "no powerpoint"rule
to facilitate true discussion and debate throughout the session.
These sessions are not an opportunity to merely present past successes
or current pilots, but rather, share ideas on how we might work together
to expand our efforts along the west coast.
Each break-out session is divided into approximately 3 major sector
topics. Per topic, attendees will share their ideas for potential
regional diesel emissions reductions collaborations and identify
existing technical, financial and information gaps. For example,
during the "On-Shore Power"discussion, attendees might share how
current pilot projects could be expanded along the west coast, and
what opportunities and challenges exist in the near-term and the
longer-term.
The break-out sessions are key to our ability to appropriately identify
near-term projects for the collaborative, and we ask that participants
focus as much as possible on identifying and describing potential
projects. The agenda for each break-out session is below.
