Hotel Accommodations

Room reservations may be made at the Red Lion Hotel, which is located across the street from the Doubletree Hotel, at a cost of $84 per night plus a $10 voucher coupon for hot breakfast. You may also book a room at the Doubletree Hotel, where the meeting will be held, at an approximate cost of $179 per night (plus tax of 12.10% and tourism fee of $1.25 per room per night). A block of rooms for conference participants has been set aside at the Red Lion Hotel Sacramento until Tuesday, March 20, which is located across the street from the Doubletree Hotel. The single room cost at the Red Lion is $84 per night plus a $10 voucher coupon for hot breakfast. We apologize that the Doubletree Hotel no longer has discounted rooms available. To ensure this rate, we encourage you to book a hotel room now. To make a reservation at the Red Lion, please call 1-800-RedLion or 916-922-8041 and inform the reservations office that you are with the “West Coast Collaborative.” Parking is free!

The Doubletree Hotel Sacramento offers many amenities for its guests, including several restaurants, an in-house exercise facility, swimming pool, spa, gift shop, and pool tables. Each guest room includes telephones with voice mail, a hair dryer, coffee maker, daily newspaper, iron and ironing board, television, and an alarm clock radio. Dial-up and highspeed internet service is available for a daily fee. Wireless internet service is available in the hotel lobby, but not in meeting or guest rooms. The City Café restaurant offers buffet breakfast and lunch, as well as dinner. In addition, the espresso bar and RJ Grin’s sports bar are also located on-site. The hotel is surrounded by various eateries, all which are within walking distance.

Air Travel

The nearest airport is Sacramento International (SMF), which is located 14 miles or 20 minutes driving from the Doubletree and Red Lion Hotels. Please visit the airport web site for more information.

Several larger airport are also accessible to the Sacramento area. The Oakland International Airport (OAK) is located 95 miles or approximately 1 hour 40 minutes driving from Sacramento. The San Francisco International Airport (SFO) is located 103 miles or approximately 1 hour 45 minutes driving from Sacramento.

From the Sacramento Airport to the Hotel

Rental Cars
The Sacramento Airport offers the services of several on-site airport car rental companies. All car rental agencies, except Payless Car Rental, are located on-site in one centralized location at the Sacramento Airport. Shuttle busses frequently transport passengers between the rental car terminal and the rental car shuttle stops in front of each terminal. Parking at the Red Lion and Doubletree Hotels is free, though we highly encourage participants to carpool to/from the hotel!

Shuttle Service
Airport transportation shuttle service to/from the Sacramento Airport and the Red Lion and Doubletree Hotels is provided by SuperShuttle, which costs $16 each way per person, or $8.00 for each additional guest in the same party. Group bookings of up to 7 people cost $46.00 total one way. The SuperShuttle van departs from the Doubletree Hotel every hour at 45 minutes past the hour between 4:45am and 6:45pm daily. Reservations are not required but are encouraged. Please allow 40 minutes travel to/from the airport. Reservations may be arranged at 1-800-BLUE-VAN or 1-800-258-3826. Calls must be made at least 2 hours in advance.

From Sacramento Airport

  • Take Interstate 5 South towards Sacramento (10 miles)
  • Take Business 80/Capital City Freeway (also Hwy 50 to Placerville) towards Reno
  • Stay on Business 80 for 6 miles- take the Arden Way East off ramp
  • The Red Lion is on your immediate left side. The Doubletree Hotel Sacramento is immediately on the right side of Arden Way, turning right at Point West Way

From San Francisco Bay Area

  • Take Interstate 80 East to Sacramento
  • Go through downtown until you reach the Business 80/Capitol City Freeway
  • Follow Business 80/Capitol City Freeway North to Arden Way exit
  • Turn right at Point West Way

From Stockton Area (Highway 99)

  • Take Hwy 99 into Sacramento
  • When you reach Sacramento, take Business 80/Capital City Freeway East to Arden Way East
  • Exit Arden Way to the East
  • Turn right at Point West Way

From Stockton Area (Interstate 5)

  • Take Interstate 5 North until you reach the I-5 and Hwy 80 split
  • Take Business 80/Capitol City Freeway North to Arden Way
  • Exit Arden Way to the East
  • Turn right at Point West Way

From Reno Area

  • Take Interstate 80 South to Hwy 80 and Business 80/Capitol Freeway split
  • Take Business 80/Capitol City Freeway to the Arden Way exit
  • Exit Arden Way to the right and make a left at the signal
  • Go under the overpass and make the first right at Point West Way

From Woodland Area

  • Take Interstate 5 South to the I-5 and Hwy split
  • Take Hwy 50 East to the Business 80/Capitol City Freeway and Hwy 50 split
  • Follow Business 80/Capitol City Freeway until you reach the Arden Way exit
  • Exit Arden Way to the East- Make the first right at Point West Way
  • Exit Arden Way to the right and make a left at the signal
